
Pikes Peak Prep was recognized by the Colorado State Board of Education as a School Recipient of the 2011 Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award winner. The award was given in recognition of the school’s “demonstration of outstanding student growth on Colorado’s 2010-2011 School Performance Framework.
Founded in 2005, and located near downtown Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak Prep (PPP) has achieved AYP every year of its existence. PPP is characterized as a “high growth, tuition-free, public charter school. The school prepares students to compete in the global economy by giving them every opportunity to become comfortable with current technology and new experiences. Along with the help of partner, Pikes Peak Community College, PPP students have the potential of graduating from Pikes Peak Prep with as many as 60 college credits free of charge – an enormous savings to families.

Pikes Peak Prep was created and is managed by the Greater Educational Opportunities (GEO) Foundation. GEO, located at 333 North Pennsylvania Street in Indianapolis, believes that all children should have access to a quality education and embraces all quality educational options that enable parents to help their children learn and schools to succeed. As part of this commitment, GEO operates four charter schools – three in Indiana and one in Colorado – as part of its GEO Academies network.
